Message from CAP’s President, Michelle Capon

Hi All,

Just returned from an amazing Global Skin conference themed Champions. I love going to this conference as it really energizes me as a patient. I get to listen to amazing content, learn how to make our organization better and catch up with friends that I haven't seen in over two years. What an amazing impact this group has on international patients living with skin conditions. As a side note, there is a resolution that is being heard by the WHO (World Health Organization) in the very near future (approximately 3 weeks time) and we may need your support in writing to your local health ministers to have Canada support this brief.

It’s been another great month with just a few updates:

1. Don't forget, our AGM is coming up on June 8th.

2. We are hosting a Mental Health Fireside Chat on May 17th where you can listen and understand how patients with Porphyria have struggled with Mental Health issues throughout their lives and prior to diagnosis as well as caregivers who are supporting loved ones with the condition and the role they played and how they coped.

3. If you are interested in being a board member for CAP, please email us and let us know or call our president at 416 428 7182.

4. Last but not least, we are looking for patients for a in-depth survey about Acute Porphyria. This is a paid study. If you are interested please reach out and let me know.
